Hi Dr Mamoun

HIGH TEMP – This message is displayed, the Cycle Fail indicator lights and the cycle
is aborted if the temperature rises 9 0F (5 0C) above the required
sterilization temperature during the Sterilization phase of the
cycle.
This message will also be displayed if the Temperature Sensor is
damaged. In this case the message will appear just before the Heat
phase starts
Possible causes for this message are:
a. The Heating Elements are remaining on instead of cycling on
and off.
Check for a shorted <a href="http://www.allclaveparts.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=16_270_111&products_id=3098" rel="nofollow">Solid State Relay</a>, shorted Heating
Element or other short circuit
b. This message can ALSO indicate a bad <a href="http://www.allclaveparts.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=16_270_111&products_id=4281" rel="nofollow">Temperature Sensor</a>-- the message will display any time during the Heat Up
phase.

Replacing these parts is something you can do

As above, please let me know when the fail messages are appearing

Hi, I have a Tutnauer EZ-9 autoclave that is giving high temperature fail messages. Is there a part I can order to fix it, or in general what can be causing this error?

Water entering the autoclave Chamber on either the Pelton Crane OCM and OCR while turned off is indicative of a leaky fill valve, and is an easy & inexpensive fix. You will need
to purchase 2 <a href="http://www.allclaveparts.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_2&products_id=34" rel="nofollow">Rebuild Kits </a>(The vent & fill valve must both be rebuilt at the same time)

You can try cleaning the valve components to make it last until you get your repair kits in.

Remove all of the water from the reservoir and lay the unit on it's side. On the bottom towards the front of the chamber you will notice a cut out in the base plate.

Inside the cut out is 2 large brass caps (about an inch in diameter) with slots in them (like a screw). One of these is the "fill" valve and the other is the "vent" valve. It doesn't really matter which is which, what you do to one...... you must do to the other.

So, remove both caps with a screwdriver by turning them in a counter-clockwise direction. Then remove the components inside the block (the block they screw into is called the "Main Valve Body"

Clean them in an ultrasonic cleaner or rinse them under the faucet. Clean out the openings in the block, making sure not to leave any residue or debirs. And then reassemble/install and try a cycle

We have an older Pelton & Crane OCM/OCR autoclave. It seems to have developed a leak of some sort. When the cycle is done the autoclave is dry inside, though often when we open the door a few days later to run another cycle, there is water in the sterilizing compartment.
Our local repairman had it in the shop for a week and replaced the door gasket and some sort of filter, but the problem remains. Suggestions?

Hi Brandon,

There could be several possibilities.

The first thing you need to do is to pinpoint the leak on your Midmark M7 autoclave.

Remove the cabinet and set it aside. Run a cycle and the leak should become obvious. (Be careful not to touch anything. You are merely observing) Use caution, the autoclave gets very hot and there will be live steam leaking...keep your face and hands away from the unit

Once we know where the leak is, we will know what to do to correct it.

Please post what you find here so others can benefit from your experience

By the way, be sure to download the free Midmark M7 Factory Service Manual for your autoclave from www.AllClaveParts.com if you haven't done so already.

It's the real thing

I have a midmark m7 and It is in need of repair and I really need help figuring out what is going on....

It turns on, heats up and seems to work great until several minutes into the cycle, steam comes out the back of the unit through the vents and a little water, (Im assuming condensation from the steam) gathers around the back side base of the unit.....when I then vent the unit, it vents in no time as most of the steam has escaped the vessel....Where could the steam be leaking from and is this repairable?

Please help!!

Its my pleasure to be of assistance Thomas.

Yes, the Tuttnauer 2340 coils do become pitted and get pinholes in them over time. I am glad you found it! Rplacing it now will save you from a lot of problems down the line.

Please let me know if the coil takes care of eliminating the green residue p.

thank you for your help, i did take out the condenser coil to clean the water tank and noticed there was a hole in the coil, i have ordered a coil from allclave and will replace it, i\'m hopeing this was the source of the green. if that fails i will have to follow your directions of cleaning the copper tubes. we do use de-mineralized water and chamber brite and the instruments are cleaned thoroughly before sterilization.
