(Taken From Our Email Files)

With his Statim 2000 Autoclave, giving him “Cycle Fault 8” Gus was in a quandary.

Even though we did not know it until the end of our conversation, Gus had apparently sent his unit out and was presented with an estimate of $3000 to make the repair. And that prompted him to start looking for other options

And then he found us

The following is a real conversation. Gus has found out for himself, when it comes to autoclave repair, repairing it yourself keeps a lot of money in your pocket. The solution is often simple and inexpensive (and in this case, the solution took about 5 minutes of his time and did not cost him a dime to fix it)

Hi, I have a Statim 2000. I’ve been getting the Cycle Fault #8 and I was wondering if that is something that I can repair myself with your parts and a little bit of your help.
If you have any information or suggestions you can share with me It would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Gus

Hi Gus
Thank you for your inquiry. Cycle Fault 8 on the Statim 2000 Autoclave means the boiler needs to be recalibrated. There are no parts needed for the basic procedure. Just click here for instructions

Hi Wally, I finally received back my Statim-2000 from Henry-Shein repair shop (they wanted to charge me $3000 to fix it).

I just performed the calibration cycle and it seemed to work fine, it completed. We did one of the spores and we’ll send to make sure the machine work as expected.

Thank you very much for your valuable help, advice and information.
Gus

Gus, I can almost guarantee the spore test will come back perfect!

I know, you are probably saying to yourself, if they wanted $3000.00 to fix it, there had to be something really bad wrong with it……and we are just missing it, right?

Well, the fact is the only complaint Gus had was he kept getting Cycle Fault 8 on his Statim 2000 autoclave and was unable to complete a cycle.

After our conversation, he told the company to send the unit back to him unrepaired. As soon as he got the autoclave back, he performed the calibration procedure we showed him, and it is now working perfectly again

So, you can draw your own conclusion

Believe it or not, this is not an isolated incident…..it really does happen all of the time.

Regardless of the error code you are receiving on your Statim 2000 Autoclave, it is always worthwhile to at least know what the possibilities are before you go through the trouble and expense of sending it off
